What experience do you have and/or what do you do?

I have been qualified since 2000 and have specialised in family law for the whole of that time and for most of my training.  Prior to qualifying, I worked in a totally different field, supervising an international customer services team.  I have always had an interest in law and decided to follow that path and took my degree at the University of Kent.  I was very much involved with the University's Law Clinic (and still advise at their evening clinics) which gave me an insight into many different areas of law and helped me decide that family law was where I wanted to specialise.

What approach do take and/or how do you make a difference for your clients?

My relationship with my clients is most important.  There are often different emotions and I like to think that clients feel comfortable talking to me, that I understand and care about their issues.  I give them clear and honest advice and that I support them through whatever process is appropriate.  I work hard to achieve the best outcome for my clients.  I am also a mum so I have particular empathy when it comes to child related issues.

What else would you like to tell us about?

I am a volunteer adviser at the Citizens Advice Bureau and at the Kent Law Clinic.
