Now even the Law Society Gazette is getting in on the action with its own divorce meets credit crunch story: "Family lawyers braced for surge in divorce cases" crys its headline.
The story predicts Monday 12th will be the highest point of the surge as it is "The first Monday after children return to school following Christmas ... traditionally the busiest day in the divorce lawyer’s calendar." and inevitably brings in the economy: "This year that day ... is expected to be especially busy as the economic slowdown ratchets up pressure on shaky marriages."
